Birth board / Dåbstavle

Billede
Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing this custom made birth board. It's a danish tradition that we call "dåbstavle" or birth board - at least I haven't heard of anywhere else doing this 😅  It features the name of the new baby as well as birth data - date and time, hospital where birth took place, weight and lenght at birth. This piece is letter sized - 21x30cm or close to 8.5x11 inches. Although very large there isn't really a new or difficult technique to this, I just thought this large project deserved a little extra attention.
So obviously some of this was done on my computer - the name (no fill) and all the data. Then I stamped the Sunny Studios Super Duper super heroes and added a few lightnings and puffs. Since this is for a boy I masked off the pony tail and hair bun on the girl images. Some of the speech bobbles were stamped, some were outlined from a Clearly Besotted stencil and a few were hand drawn.  Once everything was colored I masked off everything. …

AAA Birthday card challenge #18 Photo inspiration

Billede
Hello everyone! Today we are kicking off the AAA Birthday October challenge with a photo inspiration, and just look at those gorgeous fall colors. I'm sure you can find inspiration there. For this card I used the Concord & 9th Birthday basics turnabout stamp. I used 4 inks - green, yellow, orange and pink on a large panel so I can use the rest for a second card, but here I cut a panel with the second largest die from Simple and Basic pierced rectangles. I also cut a panel with the largest die from that set and colored the edges by swiping the same pink ink.I meassured out where I wanted my critter to place the YAY! and happy birthday stamps. After stamping that I used the brand new medium size "Organic shaped holes" die to cut through all 3 layers to create a window to the inside of the card.I made sure to put the cute hedgie in the correct position to create a tiny scene on the inside of the card. The images are from My favorite things Happy hedgehogs and colored wit…

Romantic wedding card

Billede
Hello everyone! I'm back with a custom made romantic wedding. I don't do a lot of über romantic cards, but I went all out on glitter and girly here.I startet out by coloring Stamping Bella Brett and Brenda get married. I colored the dress with a soft pinkish glow and framed them with dots fading out to emphasize the couple yet adding a bit of pink. I added a thin edge of WOW! silver sparkle embossing glitter to the edge of the panel.
The base is a soft peach cardstock. I used My Favorite Things Falling hearts stencil and added Ranger glossy paste through it. Then I poured over WOW! Peachy Keen Sparkles (a glitter). I let that dry completely and then made sure to flick off all the excess (quite a bit 🙈). I used the same stencil on the envelope and ink blended with Victorian velvet Oxide ink. All sentiments are from Simon Says Stamp Congratulations. The main sentiment on the card is heat embossed on vellum using Hero Arts silver embossing powder. Both sentiment tags are cut with…

AAA Birthday challenge game #17 - Animals & Critters

Billede
Hello everyone! Today we are starting a new game over at AAA Birthday challenge blog and the theme for this month is Animals & Critters - right up my alley, right 😉I decided to use some - new to me - My Favorite Things stamps. No surprise there.  I stamped and Copic colored these images from the MFT Birthday Buds set. I chose to keep it mostly in blues, just for a change. Copics used: E77, E74, E71, E44, E43, E42, E40 YR16 Y38, Y21, Y13, Y00 YG13, YG11 B29, B05, B02, B00 BG57, BG53, BG49, BG15, BG23, BG11
Then I did some emboss resist first white heat embossing the MFT All lined-up background stamp and then ink blending with Cracked pistacio, Mermaid lagoon and Blueprint sketch Oxide inks.
I cut the background with a Simple and Basic rectangle die and popped up the critters and cake for dimension before adhering them to the card.
Look how the birdies are completely oblivious that the wind is dragging the balloon - and sheep - in their direction. Hedgehog spotted the drama though.
That's…

But now the time has come for me to spread my wings and fly.Hop on over to the Poppystamps blog for details on this card...
