Fifty hugs

Billede
Hello Everyone! Hope your year is off to a great start. Mine is tough, I tell ya! A new lockdown started after Christmas, they already prolonged once and home schooling is taking its toll on me and my daughter. Time for crafting is sparse and this set of cards took... A while.  So - these cards feature a nice portrait of Fifty the bear sending hugs. In case you don't know Fifty he's the very proud mascot of the Danish Operation Write Home - OSH. During our first lockdown last spring the designer from NHH Design created a series of free digital stamps featuring Fifty and I've only just now come to using them. I printed out a bunch of bears and colored him to fit the desert troops he will be "joining" soon. I did very simple coloring and almost no shading. Copics used: Fifty: E51, E53 + E35, E34, E31 Uniform: E42, E43, E27, G24, G43 Shoes: E44, E43, E42 Tag: C5, C3 Letter: RV10, RV25 I prepped my 10 backgrounds with a couple of swipes of Vintage photo and Shabby s

DIY Slimline envelope

Billede
Hello everyone and welcome back! If you stopped by yesterday you know that I created a rare slimline card and since I made it quite large I had to also create my own envelope.  I know. This looks weird, right! But like I said the card was large, infact the whole width of my cardstock (which is just a teeny bit wider than the standard US cardstock). So I had to think out of the box. Well actually, I kinda cheated. You see, I remembered having seen a YouTube video of gift wrapping using scraps that were too small - see here - and that's the technique I used. I had to test on a piece of printer paper first as to not make too many folds in my cardstock, but eventually I made it fit. I then stamped a couple of the darling pandas from Simon says stamp Party like a panda, along with balloons, confetti and sentiments. I didn't forget my friends birthday, but I did foresee it possibly would arrive late due to Covid-19, just never imagined 3 months late. I cut out her name with Altene

Birthday card for my BFF

Billede
Hello everyone! Happy new year to you all! I don't know about you but I'm so relieved 2020 is now over. Let's hope 2021 is much better! Speaking of 2020 this was also a hard year for happy mail. I created this birthday card for my BFF who lives halfway around the world. Her birthday is in late September so I sent it at the beginning of September to be sure it arrived in time. This usually takes about 3 weeks. Little did I know it would take months and the card only arrived a week before Christmas. As did her Christmas card, LOL. But I'm just happy it did arrive and wasn't lost forever. Anyway, my BFF loves mermaids and LOOOVES manatees so I created this underwater scene using 5 different digital stamp sets from the large and super adorable collection of mermaids and friends  at  Sweet November stamps . The 3 mermaids came in to the shallow tropical waters and found lots of playful animal friends. I regret to say I didn't write down my Copic combos for this one

AAA Birthday challenge - game #21 A stencil background

Billede
Hello everyone! And happy new year to all! Fingers crossed for a better 2021, right?  Today we're kicking off the first challenge of 2021 over at AAA Birthday challenge blog , and the theme is - A stencil background. I don't think I have to tell you that I love stencils. In fact, it's probably my most favorite technique of all! There are som many different types of stencils. Different patterns, layering, masking, etc. They're low priced and so versatile! What's not to love?! Since it's January I wanted to create a winter scene for my birthday card. And these My favorite things Snow buddies are just perfect for that. For my background I used 3 different stencils. First I masked off the bottom with the Simon says stamp Waves and hills stencil (I cut mine apart for better usage). Then I blended the top of the background with Picked raspberry, Blueprint sketch and Black soot oxide inks. I'll be honest, this isn't my best blending but I wanted to avoid gett

Birthday card for a unicorn loving fairy

Billede
Hello everyone! A few days ago a dear crafty friend of mine celebrated her birthday. I should have had this ready but I sent it rather late and didn't think it would arrive in time. However luck would have it she actually received it on her birthday. YAY! I knew the card had to have 3 things. 1 - A unicorn, and preferably a fairy as well, so when I saw this image at Lemonshortbread on Etsy I knew it was exactly right! 2 - Primary colors because she loves the yellow, blue, pink combo 3 - Glitter because.... Glitter! I colored with Copics and added Ranger stickles and Memory Box Fairy sugar in various places. Copics used: Skin: V12, E31, E21, E00 Hair: V12, C5, C7, 100 Yellow: YR23, Y08, Y06, Y02, Y000 Blue: B26, B24, B21, B02, B00, B0000 Pink: RV17, RV66, RV55, RV52, RV10, RV0000 The large sentiment is from Avery Elle Be a unicorn and this one is from Gummiapan, a Swedish company. A frosty Christmas or birthday card

Billede
Hello everyone! Have you finished all your Christmas cards yet? Well I've at least sent the ones I wanted to by now, but I've been coloring so many Christmas images that I can make Christmas cards troughout the next year (so I probably will).  However, for some of them I have the choice of choosing a sentiment that can go with both Christmas and birthday, like this CC Designs sentiment that I selver heat embossed. The image is First Snow from Krista Leigh Smith (who was the owner of Saturated Canary). This is from her Etsy store. Now I didn't actually write my combos down for this but I'm sort of, kinda, almost sure that I used these: Skin: E13, E11, E21, E00 + R32 Lips: RV66, RV52 Eyes: B02, B00 Hair: E50, E53, E34 (very sparsely) Pink: R85, R83, R81 Grey: C7, C5, C3, C1 Jacket: E79, E77, E74, E71 Blouse: E43, E42, E41 Pants: B99, B97, B95, B93, B91 Sky: BV08, BV04, BV02, V12, V000 I finished off with white highlights and a My favorite things snowflake cut from silve
