AAA Birthday Blog game #32 - Easel card

Billede
Hey everyone! Can you believe it's December 😱 Honestly this year has flown by just as fast as 2020, in my opinion. But! Before we're ready to end the year we have one more challenge for you this year at AAA Birthday Blog , and our theme for the month of December is - Easel card!  Easel cards are pre-bent to stand up and show off their beauty. Easel cards can easily be made without dies (lots of tutorials on YouTube), but this time I chose to use the Poppystamps Adriana pop up easel set. It has a beautiful leafe ornament frame and a shaped base. I die cut the base from white cardstock and the base background from patterned paper (from a really old Joy! Creations pad). Before die cutting the ornament frame I covered my white cardstock with washi tape from Memory Box - Watercolor Forest Greenery. I find that using my bonefolder while layering it over really helps to smooth it out. The washi tape has holly, red berries and other winter greenery, but I believe holly, snow and de...

My favorite things sketch #552

Hi everyone! I'm just in time to join this weeks challenge at MFT. I've used the Flamazing stamp set and coordinating dies. I die cut first in order to place legs and beaks correctly. When I bought this set I loved all the layers and possibilities in it, but I've learned I'm not a stamping guru. I simply much prefer coloring than fidling with stamps and matching inks etc. I must try to color them instead. By the way, I used mainly Altenew inks. So once I got started I wanted to make sure I would benefit from correct placement and cut and stamped a huge bunch while I was at it. Thus this set of 12 Flamazing flamingo cards. The background was masked off and ink blended with Tumbled glass, Mermaid lagoon, Squeezed lemonade and Worn lipstick Distress oxide inks, and then cut with a stitched wonky rectangle die. From there it was simply up to placement and gluing the pieces down. Then I added a sentiments. They are from the set and stamped on a flag from the Simple and Bas...

Mother's day

Billede
Hello everyone! And happy Friday! I hope you are all well. Mother's day was this Sunday here in Denmark, but since I want to give it to my Mom in person, she hasn't received it yet, and it probably will be a bit still. But I thought I'd take the risk and share. This was really easy to make since I'd already stamped the flowers last time I used this set. A great way to be upfront and ready to make a quick card. I stenciled the background using Classy stripes stencil. All inks are Altenew. I only used 4 flowers for this card, 2 pink, 2 orange. I placed them around the card to make sure they reached all the way around. I then adhered them next to each other, cut off the overhanging part and used thosed bits to cover the rest of the edge. I finished them off with Nuvo jewel drops. The letter cuts (meaning mom) are Altenew Bold alpha that I FINALLY got and used. I cut a few layers from white cardstock and topped with a gold/brass glitter paper from Michael stores. Ex...

AAA Birthday challenge Game #11 Flowers

Billede
Hello everyone! Today we are kicking off the March challenge over at  AAA Birthday challenge blog  and the theme this month is Flowers! I recently bought the Altenew Camellia Japonica Build-a-flower set. They are a series of layered flower stamps that include the die - YAY!, for lots of easy flower cards! Now, the setup can be a little time consuming, but it's so worth it! I cut a piece of cardstock in half so that it will fit inside my Misti. Then I cut the flower out 4 times, since there's 4 layers in the set. I used Neenah 80lb cardstock. Placing the cardstock piece in my Misti and backing it with a piece of printer paper, allowed me to test if the first layer was centered on the die cut piece. After getting that just right I stamped onto one of the die cut pieces. I could then move the die cut flower to the next negative space and place the 2nd stamp perfectly and so forth. Once all 4 layers are placed in the Misti you are good to go and you'll ...
