Handmade Paper Hugs

Hello everyone! Today a whole bunch of us Stamping Bella sistah's are honoring the creator and owner of Stamping Bella, Emily Block.  At first I was looking for something that would be sentimental, but I understand that Emily was a fun, vibrant person, so I changed directions. I'm sure she would have wanted us to enjoy making this card for her! Make it a celebration.  This is Girl on a Vespa, and I feel like she's big enough that a lot going on in the background would make it "messy". So after swiping an ink pad over the background a few times I drew a line, made a few doodles and stamped a couple of sentiments over it.   Hey everyone! We've had our first snow of the season so I'm sharing a winter card today using Krista Smith - Kitty cute digital stamp. The background was created with texture paste through a Whimsy stamps stencil - Formal lattice. After it had dried I sprayed it with Distress oxide sprays. The frame and white heat embossed sentiments are from Pinkfresh Studio.   Hello everyone! Halloween is just around the corner and I have just a few more cards I want to share.  I'll be honest, I did NOT! like this background when I made it. I was playing with spray inks and this one just came out too dark and brown when I'd wanted red/green. In an attempt to make it just slightly more interesting I added blue splatters. That only made things worse. But once I had die cut the Poppystamps Spellcaster witch and magical cauldron it all just seemed to fit. This witch is brewing up something nasty and poisonous in that cauldron! With my finger I softly added a bit of Finnabair Art Alchemy Metallique Cire Cera Wax (that must be the longest name in crafting history). I used the color Firebird. It's a coppery color with a beautiful shine!  I added the wax all along the front of the witch and along the folds of her dress. To protect the next "fold" I inserted a piece of cardstock into the fold, covering the previous fold. Hope that makes sense....

  Hello everyone! I'm sharing a custom made card for a young man celebrating his 18th birthday. Key words: hot babe. In Denmark we are generally more tolerant with this kind of thing. It's often joked with and not looked down upon. I figured he'd probably be into card as well, so I stamped and black heat embossed the cars from Honey Bee stamps Car show onto watercolor paper. Then I used a clear embossing paste through a new Gummiapan stencil No.3. I really like that one. Next I applied Tumbled glass and Faded jeans Distress ink re-inker directly to the top of the paper and sprayed liberally with my Distress water spray. I dried it in between layers and repeated the process with the bottom of the card. I also sprayed with Speckled egg and Spiced marmelade Oxide sprays. The hot babe is a Kenny K digital stamp.   Hello everyone! Did you see my last post on gel press? Well it was my first time playing with it and I made a bunch of backgrounds. And since I didn't want them to cover the intire card I cut them in half to make even more backgrounds. Then I went through my folder with colored images and found some to match. Easy peasy with the amount of images I've colored all through 2020. These cuties are from My favorite things Birthday Buds, aren't they adorable? I can just hear the birdie singing "Happy birthday to YOUUUU! For this card I chose to use the danish birthday stamps from Gitte's eget design that can be layered. I used inks from Hero Arts and Waffle Flower Except for the dark blue on the gel press paper.   Hello everyone! Before we start you may wanna go grab a cuppa. This is a longer post than usual 😉 I've always steared clear from mixed media thinking it was way too many impressions in one piece of paper, lol 😅 However lately I've found that there are ways to use layers and glitter in mixed media, so I warmed up to it. Which led to the obvious question - what exactly is mixed media? Turns out it really just describes the use of more than one medium. So in a way pretty much every card I've ever made is mixed media. Although most of us probably wouldn't put them in that category. I started watching videos of mixed media projects on YouTube. Lots of videos. There are soooo many possibilities and adding color to paper on a gel plate is only one of them. Originally they are intended for acrylic paint, but also work with regular and oxide Distress inks and alcohol ink, which I'm looking forward to try.
