RAM stamps Birthday palooza

Billede
Hey friends! The April release is now live over at RAM Stamps and it's a fun one for sure! It has everything you'll need to create a birthday card - a boy and a girl, lots os balloons, cute birds, bees and other bugs, flowers, hearts, stars, sentiments, numbers celebrating ages 1 through 10 AND a gorgeous paper pack to go with it all. Here I'll be sharing a fun pop-up box card and a much simpler card using some of the many files.  I decided to make this cute pop-up box card for my niece who turns 3 in May. I printed the girl, bird and flower as they are, tehy come in black and soft grey outlines. The balloon set comes as a finished panel and seperate balloons, and I made my own background to fit the back of the card. And what's so clever about the files is that you can layer them on top of the patterned paper, like I did here. Saved me the hassle of cutting these tiny cuties out. I don't have a die for this, I simply made my own template. This is 29,5 by 15 cm. You...

Pop-up how-to

Billede
Hi friends, here's a how-to on my pop-up cards. Last summer I decided on finding a card design that was sort of interactive, yet not too dimensional, to make for the Danish Operation write home.  For those who don't know, the Operation write home delivers cards for military personnel to send home to their loved ones while deployed.  ~ My favorite things Mermazing, Elegant rectangle stax, Neat & Tangled Mermazing, Taylored Expressions Sweet scallop stencil The pop-up card design is not my original idea. It's been around for years, and I recall making one a looong time ago, but it was tedious and I didn't like the working process. But I recently saw Jennifer Mcquire make it this way, and I knew I had to give it a try. And once I'd made one they just flowed on out of my crafty quarters. They are really easy to make and add quite the dimension to the card. AND - they fold flat, which is absolutely perfect. ~ Whimsy stamps Whale of a time, Sunny Studios stamps Sea ...

Husband's 50th birthday card

Billede
Hey everyone! Today is my husband's 50th birthday and I made him this special sidestep card. It holds not everything but a lot of what he is and loves. I actually had to leave things out because it wouldn't fit.  He works as a technician, always has, and he has a special thing for... Screw drivers. Apparently.  It's a standing joke that he doesn't have any and should put it on his wishlist. When in reality he has soooooo many 🙈 So as a joke I "hid" a bunch in the card. My daughter couldn't find all of them. Can you? Scroll to find answer.  Products used: * Avery Elle, Fly-by - My husband constantly checks travel ideas for our next adventure  * My Facorite Things, Hot cocoa cups - He LOVES! coffee, grinds his beans himself  * Three Scoops, Surprise pakke 11 - Vaca! Usually travel includes sun, snorkelling and whale watching * Sugar Pea Designs, Grill Master - He's an avid BBQ-chef and likes to make use of it all year round regardless of rain and snow *...

50th birthday card for a hunter

Billede
Custom made card for a hunter with 2 labs, who dreams of hunting deer. I know this may be weird to some, and honestly I don't like the concept of hunting. At all! But on the other hand, I do love a slow cooked deer shank. So, I went with it, and it turned out really great.  I don't use green much, and definitely not as a main color, but it really works for this. They are Twisted citron and Evergreen bough Distress oxide inks, and the edges blended with a bit of vintage photo. Dogs from Leane Creatief (Copic colored)  Riffle is a silhouette photo from google Deer from Impression Obsession - ink blended, Antique linnen, Vintage photo, Ground espresso oxides Trees from Joy! Crafts - ink blended, Antique linnen, Vintage photo oxides Numbers from Mama Elephant - heat embossed with WOW! Perissa Bullseye handmade from a Poppystamps circle frame and 2 strips of cardstock

Summer cards for OSH - the masculine version

Billede
Today I'm sharing 2 sets of summer cards I made for the Danish operation write home. One was shared a while back on my Facebook paige, the other is "new". Once again I've used the awesome set of summer stamps from Three Scoops.  For all of the cards I used the Waffle Flower stencil For one set I used a circle frame, for the other a mini palm tree. Both are from Poppystamps.  Scroll down for the second set of cards.

70th birthday card

Billede
Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a custom made 70th birthday card for a friend of the family. He loves golf, beer and flowers and he's worked for a local news paper for ages. I knew I had to use Mo's digital pencil "Big guy golfing". The beer bottle and glass are from Three Scoops (bottle says cheers), tillykke (congrats) die from Gitte's eget design and the numbers from The Cat's Pajamas. I added a WOW! embossing powder mix to the numbers. I couldn't fit in flowers as well, so I stenciled the beautiful peonies from a Simon Says Stamp stencil. I wantes to add a braided patch of newspaper, so I cut a few strips and ripped the ends. I added newspaper to the word cut as well. In the end this card totally describes the birthday boy and I'm really happy with the results. Thanks so much for stopping by! Stay safe, and happy crafting! Tina

AAA Birthday Challenge - Game #27 Use an embossing folder

Billede
Hello everyone! Can you believe it's July already? Well today we're kicking off the July challenge over at AAA Birthday Challenge blog and the theme this month is Use an embossing folder. For this card I was greatly inspired by a video I watched recently from Jaycee Gaspar - find it here . I was just playing around with different embossing folders and trying different things and although this is very dark and much different to my usual style I totally love the look! I used Memory Box Chrysanthemum Field 3D embossing folder. Obviously I used a black ink (Versafine Onyx Black) and applied all over the embossing folder which really made the flowers stand out. Using the technique from the video I tore the sides of the paper and decided to back it with a couple of layers of gold embossing powder (Hero Arts) and plattered on some diluted gold acrylic paint. The My favorite things Hooray die also received a couple of layers of embossing powder, as did the sentiment which is also MFT ...

18th Birthday masculine card

Billede
Hello everyone! I'm sharing a custom made card for a young man celebrating his 18th birthday. Key words: hot babe. In Denmark we are generally more tolerant with this kind of thing. It's often joked with and not looked down upon. I figured he'd probably be into card as well, so I stamped and black heat embossed the cars from Honey Bee stamps Car show onto watercolor paper. Then I used a clear embossing paste through a new Gummiapan stencil No.3. I really like that one. Next I applied Tumbled glass and Faded jeans Distress ink re-inker directly to the top of the paper and sprayed liberally with my Distress water spray. I dried it in between layers and repeated the process with the bottom of the card. I also sprayed with Speckled egg and Spiced marmelade Oxide sprays. The hot babe is a Kenny K digital stamp. Sorry to get your hopes up, because they sadly closed years ago. As always I colored with Copics: Skin: E15, E13, E21, E11, E00 + R32 Eyes: B24 Lips: R22, R29 Hair: E51...

AAA Birthday challenge - game #24 Shaped card

Billede
Happy Easter Monday friends! I hope your Easter offered lots of fun, family, relaxing, crafting or whatever you wished for.  Today we're kicking off the April challenge over at AAA Birthday blog and the theme this month is Shaped card. I recently (well some time last year) purchased these cute Whimsy stamps Hap-Bee birthday bees. I think they're so fun! I felt they would be the perfect feature for a hexagon-shaped card, so I stamped the bees and copic colored them. Copics used: Yellow: YR24, YR23, Y17, Y21, Y11  Black: E47, E44, E40 Wings: E55, E53, E50 Mouth: E99, E97, R85, R83 Orange: YR68, YR04, YR82 Teal: BG49, BG15, BG23 I thought it would be fun to also make it an easel card, so I used the largest die in the Waffle Flower Nesting hexagon set to cut these 2 pieces out.  To cut the one on the left I folded a piece of cardstock and placed the edge of the die juuuust outside the paper, so it would cut the whole shape and leave the fold.  Next I folded one h...
