Carving pumpkins

Billede
Hey everyone! It's almost Halloween and I feel like I didn't do enough Halloween cards. But time got away from me, I guess. Anyway, do you like carving pumpkins? Halloween is kind of a newer thing here in Denmark and I never felt the need to be a part of it. But when my daughter was 2 we started carving pumpkins and it's been a tradition since. And I absolutely love it! For this card a used a new Krista Leigh Smith digital stamp and I think it's so cute! I used Dried marigold, Spiced marmalade and Crackling campfire Oxide inks, smooshed them on the card panel and then added a sentiment and small pumpkins from Poppystamps using Altenew inks. Copics used  Pumpkin: E99, YR09, YR04, YR21 Leaves: G94, G43 Stool: W7, W5, W3 Knife: C9, C7, C5, C3 Red: R89, R39, R37, R35 Mustard: YR27, YR24, Y26 Skirt: E79, E77, E74, 71 Skin: E13, E11, E21, E00 + R32 Hair: E37, E34, E31 Grounding: E33, E31, E30 I really love that deep red-mustard combo, Hope you like it, too?! A Fly By - destination OSH

Billede
Hello everyone! Do you sometimes overthink your projects? I know I do 🙈 I'm sure if I was making cards instead of thinking I'd create 3 times more cards in the same amount of time. Oh well... Today I'm sharing another set of cards for the Danish operation write home - OSH. I used Avery Alle Fly By stamps and coordinating dies. It's an older set but it was given to me a while ago and I thought it was perfect for OSH cards. Actually I stamped and colored these cute images more than a year ago. Can you believe it. With the pandemic I find I can color but actually making cards, not so much 😩 I have been die cutting them while my daughter did her online homeschooling. It took FOREVER! Can you tell I'm not used to coordinating dies 😂 The backgrounds were easily done with a bit of ink smooshing using Tumbled glass distress re-inker and a little bit of Salty ocean. Copics used: R39, R29, R24 + W7, W5, W3 + R24, R22, R20, R00 B39, B37, B24, B21 + B97, B95, B91 + B23, B2...

MFT color and sketch challenge

Billede
Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed Easter in spite of everything going on. Our Easter break has ended and I'm sharing a card I made for the My favorite things sketch challenge. And while I was at it, I colored it according to the current color challenge. I started by ink smooshing the background with Mermaid lagoon, Blueprint sketch and Chipped sapphire Distress inks. I chose a sentiment from the MFT Written in the stars and heat embossed with a homemade powder - black and WOW! silver sparkle. I then colored one of the astronauts from Space explorer and fuzzy cut him out. Copics used: E04, E11, E00, E000 E41, E42, E43, E44 C5, C3, C00 B99, B97, B95, B93, B91 R46 From white cardstock I cut the largest MFT Pierced star, and the Stars word (including stars) twice. I placed the star and the astronaut on top. I added glossy accents to his face. Then I colored one of the word die cuts with R46 and layered them offset. After placing the word and small stars I...

Epilepsy awareness day

Billede
Hello everyone! Until a few days ago I didn't even know there was an epilepsy awareness day. But when I found out that through Time Out challenge blog that March 2th is just that, I had to join. You see, my Bonita (the doggie we just lost) had stress-induced epilepsy. I hope to never see another epileptic cramp again 🙏 But did you know not all seizures are visible? Some seizures puts the patient in a sort of trance, and some go by unnoticed for years. Either way, it's scary. Purple is the color for epilepsy and the sea horse is a symbol of it, because the seizures take place in the brains Hippocampus, which in latin means sea horse. So I stamped the Hero Arts layered Sea horse using Altenew purple inks. I used the same inks to ink smoosh the background. I also stamped a few more sea horses and stenciled through Taylored Expressions Splash stencil. I didn't move the stencil. Instead I added a bit of Nuvo Moonstone glimmer paste for a little sparkle. The sentiment...

Panda cuteness

Billede
Hello everyone! How about some panda cuteness to brighten our day in between all the Corona horror.  I bought this Simon says stamp Party like a panda set while on vacation and I couldn't wait to color the black and white cuties. The background honestly is one I tossed a while back. Tossed in the sense that it didn't fit my project. However, true to Kelly Latevola I don't throw anything out. And I'm glad I didn't because it fits this. It's simple ink smooshing using yellow/pink Distress inks for a spring look. On top I've white heat embossed the SSS Ornate background - one of my all time favorites. I used the 'tillykke' (congrats) die from Hobbyboden to cut pink glitter paper. Using a My favorite things pierced circle die I cut a piece of vellum to back the panda and popped it up. I hope that cheared you up! Thanks for stopping by, STAY SAFE and why not spent your home-stay crafting! This card is entered into: simon says ...

Love chicks

Billede
Hello everyone! I'm ba-aaack! I've enjoyed a long, wonderful vacation, a much needed break.  As I think I've already mentioned I don't celebrate Valentine's day. But that's not going to stop me from using the cute Stamping Bella Valentine Chicks. Love cards can be used all year round, right?! The are pretty much the same, except for the colors used. For this one I've used Spun sugar and Picked raspberry Distress inks to ink smoosh the background. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Love by Kristina Werner. I just love this set/die. I stamped in Versafine Onyx black ink and covered with WOW! clear embossing powder. I repeated twice for a smoother, glossy look. Would you believe I've lost my notes on the colors used, LOL! I'm unsure about the Y's.  Copics used: Chicks: C5, Y08, Y06, Y00 + YR09, YR04 Bows: V09, V17, V15, V12 Pink: RV29, RV25, RV23 Envelope: C1 Cupcake: E29, E25, E23 For this card I used Shaded lilac a...

Classic ninjas

Billede
Hello everyone! I was lucky to find this classic My favorite things Ninja-mazing set at a really great price and since my daughter needs a birthday card for a friend I thought it was the perfect occasion.  I stamped a couple of images, colored them with Copics and die cut them. I first stamped the "congrats" and then used my T-ruler to allign the letters. The background is ink smooshed with Wild honey, Spiced marmelade and Candied apple oxide inks. I added a "HI-YA" for the flying ninja and popped them all up with craft foam. I really like the contrast of the background and the ninjas on this one! Thanks for sto...

Hello everyone! Are you ready for more Alex Syberia goodness? I simply couldn't help myself with this super cute Gingerbread house bouquet. So adorable! You can find Alex' Etsy store  here . I colored this with Copics - no surprise there. But I decided to keep it pink-themed. After coloring the image I fuzzy cut around the colored edge. Copics used: Gingerbread: E39, E37, E35, E34 Pink frosting + candy cane: RV29, RV25, RV23 Poinsettia: RV13, RV11, colorless blender + YG06 Hellebore: RV66, RV55, RV52, V000 Holly berries: R89, R39, RV29 Holly leaves: BG49, G17, G05 Orange: YR09, YR21, YR04, Y17 Bauble: YR27, YR23, Y17, Y11 Cinnamon: E29, E27, E23 Pine needles: G29, G17, G14 Backdrop shadow: R52, V000 I added some fine white glitter for frost/snow. OSH Christmas cards #2 - Operation skriv hjem

Billede
Hello everyone! I've got some more operation write home cards for you today. For these I've used new stamps from Threescoops. In Denmark, well I guess in all of Scandinavia, we decorate with marcipan pigs and straw Yule goats. I'm not sure if those of you outside Scandinavia knows of these, but for me they hold so many childhood memories. I just had to have this set! A few years ago I bought a pretty big straw goat. He's out every Christmas. I love it! I stamped the goat and the sentiment from Hobbyboden with Gina K amalgam ink and let dry. I then ink smooshed them with Fossilized amber Oxide ink and then let them dry again. Sentiment means Wishing you a peaceful Christmas. I'm not a marcipan fan, but this is still so Christmassy!  On these I used Spun sugar Oxide ink. Sentiment from Dixi Craft means something along the lines of Christmas candy and sweets. Once they were all completely dry I colored the ribbons and bows with Copics using R39, R29, R...

Autumn colors

Billede
Hello everyone, and welcome! Autumn is upon us and I see several challenges on the subject. I for one am not liking the colder weather, but the warm colors of autumn I love! I stamped the Stamping Bella Curvy girls Besties on Neenah cardstock, colored it with Copics and fuzzycut it out. Of course there had to be sparkle, so I added Wink of Stella clear sparkle pen. Copics used: Skin: E04, E11, E00, E000, R32 / E34, E31, E21, E50, R22 Hair: E42, E43, E44, E47 / R32, C5, C7, 100 Dress: V09, V17, V15, V12 / YR09, YR04, Y38, YR21 Poppies + shoes: R29, R24, R22 Roses: YR04, Y38, Y21 Leaves: G05, YG03, YG01 Shoes: C5, C7, 100 For the background I played with ink smooshing a bunch of Distress inks on watercolor paper - Squeezed lemonade, Mustard seed, Wild honey, Spiced marmelade, Twisted citron and Moved lawn. I then placed the Simon says stamps Flok dance stencil over the panel and as best as possible used a darker color Distress ink over the res...
