Pop-up how-to

Billede
Hi friends, here's a how-to on my pop-up cards. Last summer I decided on finding a card design that was sort of interactive, yet not too dimensional, to make for the Danish Operation write home.  For those who don't know, the Operation write home delivers cards for military personnel to send home to their loved ones while deployed.  ~ My favorite things Mermazing, Elegant rectangle stax, Neat & Tangled Mermazing, Taylored Expressions Sweet scallop stencil The pop-up card design is not my original idea. It's been around for years, and I recall making one a looong time ago, but it was tedious and I didn't like the working process. But I recently saw Jennifer Mcquire make it this way, and I knew I had to give it a try. And once I'd made one they just flowed on out of my crafty quarters. They are really easy to make and add quite the dimension to the card. AND - they fold flat, which is absolutely perfect. ~ Whimsy stamps Whale of a time, Sunny Studios stamps Sea ...

Billede
Happy new year, you guys!! Today we're kicking off the first challenge of the year over at AAA Birthday blog and the first theme of the year is..... 2 favorite colors. Also, we're having a micro hop with our sister challenge blog AAA Cards between the 9th and 22nd January, so don't forget to check out the details . So the slimline format might be surprising to you, but the colors wont be. Right? I mean, pink and purple - everyone knows they're my favorite.  The girl is a digital stamp from Krista Leigh Smith and I just love the her expression. When I saw the image I felt like she was shaking her head in disbelief. I knew that I wanted to pair her with those sentiments - What the what now?! You're THAT old?! No WAY?! 😆 I colored her with Copics some time during the fall and fuzzy cut the image. Copics used: Skin: E13, E11, E21, E00 + R32 Lips: RV09, RV04 Make-up: RV95, RV11 Blouse: RV69, RV66, RV55, RV52 Hair: E59, E25, E33 Pants: W3, W3, W1, W0 The background was ...

AAA Birthday challenge - game #24 Shaped card

Billede
Happy Easter Monday friends! I hope your Easter offered lots of fun, family, relaxing, crafting or whatever you wished for.  Today we're kicking off the April challenge over at AAA Birthday blog and the theme this month is Shaped card. I recently (well some time last year) purchased these cute Whimsy stamps Hap-Bee birthday bees. I think they're so fun! I felt they would be the perfect feature for a hexagon-shaped card, so I stamped the bees and copic colored them. Copics used: Yellow: YR24, YR23, Y17, Y21, Y11  Black: E47, E44, E40 Wings: E55, E53, E50 Mouth: E99, E97, R85, R83 Orange: YR68, YR04, YR82 Teal: BG49, BG15, BG23 I thought it would be fun to also make it an easel card, so I used the largest die in the Waffle Flower Nesting hexagon set to cut these 2 pieces out.  To cut the one on the left I folded a piece of cardstock and placed the edge of the die juuuust outside the paper, so it would cut the whole shape and leave the fold.  Next I folded one h...

Sassy grungy love card

Billede
Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing a different kind of love card. Kristina from ScrapSalig was so sweet to gift me this gorgeous digital stamp. Did you know she now has rubber stamps too? They're on her own website and if you're not in Sweden you might have to send her an email. But she's the sweetest girl, so don't be shy 😉 I honestly should've used my black regular Distress ink, but I chose the oxide one because I thought it would give a little more when using water. It just wasn't dark enough so I ended up swiping the whole pad across the bottom left side of the panel and then blending it out. I flicked on some water and also splattered diluted black soot oxide. I die cut the My favorite things Hearts entwined, heat embossed it with a selfmade mix of WOW! Metalline red embossing powder and WOW! Your carriage awaits, which is a actually a glitter. I cut it in 2 pieces to fit it on both ends of my image. I poped up the image for dimension and as you can...

AAA Birthday game #7

Billede
Hello everyone! Today we are starting a new challenge over at  AAA Birthday blog  and the theme is Include a number. So a couple of weeks ago a long-time friend of the family celebrated her 70th birthday. She enjoys the sweet retired life with golf and wine. These are her colors, but I suppose this may as well have been for a guy. I die cut the Leane Creatief Golf bag and clubs and colored them with Copics. The Dixi Craft Tillykke (congrats) word die was also Copic colored. I stamped the Threescoops wine bottle and 2 glasses from the God Årgang set and also a flower from the My favorite things Fancy Flowers set. After coloring them i fuzzy cut the wine images and die cut the flower. I used The Cat's Pajamas Your number is up and heat embossed with WOW! Midnight Dream - one of my favorites - and fuzzy cut those out as well. I then die cut the big scalloped circle from MFT First place ribbon and ink blended with Tumbled glass and Broken china Oxide inks. On a Simp...
