Newton's picnic

Billede
I made another couple of sets of summer cards for the Danish operation write home, this time using Newton's Nook Woodland picnic critters along with sentiments from Gitte's eget design (sending you sunshine) and Three Scoops (wishing you a wonderful summer).  Background stamps are from Simon says stamp and the plaid paper was made with Newton's Gingham stencil.

It's summer, treat yo'self!

Shadow box cards

Billede
Hello everyone! I've been thinking about how I could make some kind of interactive cards for the Danish Operation write home. I figured that Shadow box cards would be the perfect solution because they fold to a standard card size yet pop up for a little fun. I absolutely love how these came out but they do use more cardstock. Maybe I'll try and change the size to accomodate more of these. For each card I used 2 pieces of cardstock sized 10,5 x 19 cm (finished card size is A6 - similar to US A2) and scored 1 and 2 cm from both ends. Fold them in different directions and when put together you have a very easy shadow box card. Follow instructions  here . I cut an oval from one panel and a smaller size from colored cardstock. I adhered the colored panel inside the white for sturdiness. After all they will go around the world, possibly twice. I didn't think to add the sentiment before adding the colored panel, but I did stamp it before putting the front and back panels togethe...

MFT color and birthday challenge

Billede
Hello everyone! So, schools have actually started opening here in Denmark. To say that I'm worried about the consequences would be putting it mildly. So we're keeping our daughter at home for now. But, on a more sheerful note, I've played with another My favorite things classic and created it according to both the color challenge and the birthday challenge. I colored a couple of images from the Magical dragons set. Then used the second largest Linked chain circle die to cut a frame. The center of the circle I ink blended with Tattered rose Distress oxide ink. Then blended the same ink through the Newton's Nook Cloudy sky stencil. The frame itself I covered in WOW! Mermaid tails embossing glitter - so gorgeous! Copics used: B99, B97, B95, B93, B91 R22, R20, R11 W3, W1, W0 C5, C3, C1, C00  Then I placed the circle, frame and images and stamped a few sentiments with Faded jeans Distress ink. Sentiments are from Magical dragons and Adorable elephants. I...

Lots of rainbows

Billede
So I colored a few Concord 9th rainbow unicorns during the daily marker 30 day challenge, and now I've put them on cards. For the first one I used a dark grey cardstock for base. I stamped the sentiment with WOW! embossing ink and covered with gold embossing powder.  I then used the small star stamp and stamped with embossing ink along the bottom as sort of a trail of gold glitter from the unicorn. I covered with Fairy tale embossing powder. Once the unicorn was adhered I wanted a little more sparkle. Out of fear of covering too much color I carefully added a light layer of stickles to the tail and mane. For the second card I used black cardstock for base. I first white heat embossed the sentiment, then used WOW! Mint macaroon on top. I had to layer them because the mint powder is translucent. I layed over the Newton's Nook Confetti stencil and spread a layer of Nuvo Glacier paste Sea sprite. Looks gorgeous on black! This unicorn is wearing a party hat, ...

Hello everyone! I wish I could say I have enough determination to make Christmas cards year round, because it would save me a lot of stress. But I just don't. I love Christmas, at Christmas. But I get really annoyed when the stores decorate at the beginning of October. I mean, seriously...? But - I was chosen winner at  Christmas card throwdown blog  this Christmas and asked to guest design. I'm honored and delighted to do so. And honestly, the My favorite things Happy pawlidays doggies are the cutest, and so I enjoyed this so much I made 2 cards. For the background I ink blended Candied apple Distress ink through a Three Scoops Christmas stencil. Love this stencil. The sentiment from MFT Handwritten holiday is heat embossed with WOW! Red glitz embossing glitter. Since the theme is Christmas lights I highlighted them with glossy accents. Copics used: E77, E74, E71, E70 R39, R29, R24 100, C7, C5 (nose) C3, C1 (hat/lights) I cut the panel slightly smaller t...
