Guest Designer for Color Throwdown #553

Billede
Hello and welcome, I was featured stamper in challenge #551 on  The Color Throwdown challenge blog  and honored to be guest designing for the new challenge #553 with a gorgeous color combo - yellow, orange, pink. I love this color combo. It's beautiful and full of happy and summer vibes! I wanted to keep it simple and really feature the colors. This combo also gave me the chance to re-create my masculine card  from about a month ago in feminine colors.  So I started by ink blending my background. I used Oxide inks, because they blend easily and beautifully. I used Squeezed lemonade, Spiced marmelade and Piched Raspberry. To ease the blending I decided to also bring in a little Wild honey and Abandoned coral, but it honestly wasn't necessary.  I used my favorite stamp of all time, the Simon says stamp Ornate background. I stamped with WOW! embossing ink, covered it with WOW! White pearl embossing powder and heat set it. I used a lar

Summer fun!

Billede
Hi there and welcome, Today I have this bright and joyful summer fun card to share. So, The daily marker 30 day challenge by Kathy Racoosin is over and I've commenced summer holidays with my family. But that doesn't mean there's no coloring. I often color with my daughter, and I love the special times we share! For this card I printed the Paper Shelter image Coconut on Neenah, colored it with my Copics and die cut with a My favorite things Elegant rectangle die. From pineapple patterned paper I die cut with a larger die from that same set. I backed it with a panel of pink cardstock. These flowers... Don't get me started. They are Joy! dies and my first ever rolled flowers. I thought the Sissix felt was wool. It wasn't! And they were practically impossible to roll. I almost gave up a couple of times, but in the end they came out looking alright. The leaves are MFT Fab foliage cut from white cardstock and colored with Copics. To finish off t

Pink panda love

Billede
Hello! Get ready for some cuteness!! This image is a digital Gerda Steiner stamp called Panda love. How adorable is that panda on top of a pile of hearts 😍 I printed the image on Neenah cardstock and colored it with my copics. Then I fuzzycut it out. For the background I die cut a panel with a Double pierced Simple and Basic rectangle and then ink blended a circle in the middle using Spun sugar, Picked raspberry and Seedless preserves Distress ink. I tried to make it very suttle, but suttle is not my forte when it comes to color, lol. I then placed the Newton's Nook Tumbling hearts stencil over and used the same colors on top of each other. I popped up the panda image using craft foam. The sentiment is from My favorite things Polar bear pals and stamped with Picked raspberry oxide ink. I backed the panel with hot pink cardstock. Copics used: Panda: 100, C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, C00 Hearts: RV29, RV25, RV23, RV66, RV55, RV52, RV02, RV02 Thanks

Kenny K for a guy

Billede
Hi there! Sooo, I can't go through a month of The daily marker colloring challenge without a single Kenny K stamps image!  For the background I first cut some patterned paper to size. I then die cut the My favorite things Four way chevron die from black cardstock and placed on top. Meet Megan Foxy. It's one of many digital Kenny K stamps I'm lucky to own. I printed it on Neenah and colored it with my copics. I then fuzzycut it out. With the "BOY" die from MFT Birthday boy girl die, I cut the letters 4 times from black cardstock and layered them. I covered the top layer in WOW! Silent night. It's not black, not silver, but a beautiful mix. I also embossed the word Birthday from Lawn Fawn Happyhappyhappy using WOW! Opaque bright white embossing powder on black cardstock.  I placed the BOY letters on the panel and adhered the Birthday on top. I then popped up the colored image and placed it so it looks like she's leanin

Always be a mermaid

Billede
Hi there! Today we are starting our summer holiday and I wanted to make a card for my daughter. I just had to color up this new Digi Doodles Serina mermaid!    The background was created by ink blending Milled lavendar, Tumbled glass and Mermaid lagoon Distress inks over the Taylored Expressions Sweet scallop stencil. I printed the mermaid and a sentiment from Digi Doodles Mermaid sentiments. I colored the mermaid with my copics in my favorite colors, pink and teal, and fuzzycut it out.  I decided the card needed a shaker element and I used the TE Be a mermaid tail die. I die cut the tail from the background and popped up the background with 2 layers of craft foam. I placed the cut out tail in the negative space. I made sure to prep with my antistatic powder bag and added clear sequins and violet glitter before placing the background on top. I popped up the mermaid and the sentiment. The sentiment is cut with a frame from Lawn Fawn Just for you labe

More watercoloring?

Billede
Hi there! I'm very much out of my comfort zone when it comes to watercoloring. The other day when I made the wallpaper art card, I stamped and embossed all 3 flowers from the Altenew set with WOW! Metallic platinum embossing powder. I colored this flower to go on that same card, but I just didn't like it on there. So today I decided to put it on another card. The background is made with the old Jennifer McGuire trick of adding Distress ink to an acrylic block, spraying with water and laying it on to the cardstock. I didn't use watercolor paper for this, so I only left the block there for a few seconds. But it gave a beautiful impression. I used Squeezed lemonade, Shabby shutters and Twisted citron Distress inks. I then stamped the leaves using Twisted citron Oxide ink, and splattered diluted Distress ink in Twisted citron, Evergreen bough and Black soot.  I popped up the flower, stamped the sentiment from Simon says stamp Big birthday wishes a

Did someone say pink?

Billede
Hi there! So, I just found out there's a card challenge blog for mostly pink cards. I mean, that's my place to be! So without further ado. The image is Polkadoodles Ruby birthday cake printed on Bristol smooth. Originally printed for my DT card for AAA Birthday challenge, but the paper is simply too thick for my printer and was ruined. But I could salvage this image, and now I colored her with my Arteza markers and fuzzy cut it. The background is ink smooshed with Spun suger, Picked raspberry and Seedless preserves Distress ink. I just love the look! I cut it with a double pierced rectangle from Simple and basic. The sentiment is from MFT Queen for the day. I was very indecisive about the color of the sentiment, I didn't like the black, so I stamped again with Versafine Onyx black ink and sprinkled over WOW! Pink fizz embossing glitter before heatsetting. I then cut the My favorite things Captivating mandala and Crown from white cardst

Watercolored wall paper art

Billede
Hello! Simon says stamp has recently started an IG challenge, and this month it's watercolor. I don't watercolor a lot and I've only recently purchased my first set of Arteza markers. But practice makes perfect, right?! I prepped my Bristol smooth cardstock with my powder tool, and stamped the Altenew Wallpaper art flower and leaves with WOW! embossing ink, covered with WOW! Metallic platinum embossing powder and heat set it.  I channeled my inner Kelly Latevola in  this video and colored them with my Arteza markers, covering the entire image in 3-4 colores before adding water to blend the colors. I made sure to color outside the lines to prevent all white edges. I thought this kind of coloring would be easier than applying one color at a time. It was difficult though, to let go of the control freak in me, and they didn't turn out like I wanted (they're much darker, lesson learned). I let them dry and fuzzy cut them out. For the backg

A wild roar!

Billede
Hello! Today I'm sharing a card with the Mama Elephant The wild roar. How cute are all those critters?! I stamped the main image along with a couple of leaves, colored them with my copics and fuzzy cut them out. For the background I ink blended the background with Spun sugar, Festive berries and Seedless preserves oxide inks. Then I stamped the large happy birthday stamp from Mama Elephant Birthday wishes with WOW! embossing ink, covered with WOW! Opaque bright white powder and heat set it. I popped up the main imageat the bottom of the card, and placed the leaves. The ones in the bottom are tucked under the critters, the ones in the top are popped up. A gorgeous mandala

Billede
Hello there! I've got a simple card for today, but still pretty and colorful!   I started by ink blending the backgraound with Squeezed lemonade, Dried marigold, Worn lipstick and Picked raspberry oxide inks. From white cardstock I cut the My favorite things Captivating mandala. I removed all the little cut outs and placed the panel as well as the mandala itself over the ink blended area. I cut out the MFT Birthday wishes, covered it with WOW! embossing ink and WOW! Pink fizz embossing glitter and heat set it. How's that for a quick card! Thanks for stopping by, and happy crafting! Another pink snowdrift

Billede
Hello! I had a couple of peaces left from the pink snowdrift card a few days ago, so I decided to use these on another card. I adhered the My favorite things Horizontal snowdrift frame covered in Nuvo shimmer powder on a panel of white cardstock. There was one pink snow drift left, and I used this as well. I stamped, Copic colored and fuzzy cut another bear from the MFT Polar bear pals set, as well as the party hat and presents from the MFT Beary special birthday set. I popped them up with foam squares. Copics used: W3, W1, colorless blender, RV14, RV13, RV21, RV00 I stamped parts of a sentiment from the Beary special birthday set. Then I added double sided tape to a piece of white cardstock and cut the "wishes" from the MFT. I peeled off the backing and covered the cut out with WOW! Bridal sparkles.  Tip: The WOW! Sparkles are not embossing powders, but amazing, sparkling glitter. Adhere it with double sided tape, bonding powder, or mix with

1st day of school

Billede
Hi there, Before we get started, get yourself a nice cup of coffee, this is a long post. Today was my daughter's last day as a kinder gartener. And in a little over a month she will start her first year of school. She's so excited! My husband and I can't understand this time has come already! But, I wanted to make her a special card, and very unlike me I'm getting it done now instead of my usual last minute, lol. My idea was a 3D card, but I didn't have a clue how to do it, so this card actually started out as a 1-layer card. Stamping, masking, stamping... you get the point. After coloring half the images I decided it wasn't working. The scene was just all wrong, the card was 30 cm (almost 12") long, and I messed up the coloring one one of the images. So I stamped a few more images and colored them all in with my Copics, and then fuzzy cut them all. The stamps are from Clearly Besotted A class act and Being schooled, as well as Mama Elephan
