Mother's day card

Billede
Hi friends! Another card long overdue. Well my Mom had it on time, but only sharing now. Alcohol ink on Yupo, gold glitter cardstock cut with Altenew Rose filament dies, as well as the word Mor (Mom) die from Three Scoops. I cut the shadow from vellum. I dared stamping on the vellum but I did have to carefully set it. I don't do many simple cards but I really love this. Thanks so much for stopping by1 Stay safe, and happy crafting! Tina

Billede
Hello everyone! Today marks the beginning of the March challenge over at AAA Birthday challenge blog , and the theme this month is Under the sea. So get out your favorite sea critters - otters, turtles, whales etc. - or how about mystical creatures like mermaids. Sadly this month's challenge also marks my last project for the AAA DT, as I need to focus on me for a while. Although not in relevance to this challenge at all, I ask that you keep the people of Ukraine in your thoughts 🙏 Please consider donating This gorgeous image is a Make it Crafty digital stamp colored with Copics. I don't remember the colors used, but I'm guessing : Hair: R85, R83, RV11, RV10 Tail: B99, B97, BG49, BG13, BG15, BG01, YG0000 The background panel is an old alcohol ink panel i had laying around.  For sentiment I chose 2 Sentiments from Taylored Expressions Be a mermaid. I didn't have a "Have a mermazing birthday", so these will have to do. Oh, and by the way, they were white heat e...

Guest designing for the Danish Operation Write Home - Operation Skriv Hjem

Billede
Hello everyone! Today I'm so excited to be guesting on the Danish OSH blog -  Operation write home . It's a privately run blog that collects cards for all occasions and sends them to our troops deployed all over the world. I first donated cards a couple of years ago and I really like the idea of the cards bringing joy to both troops and their loved ones. In unintended pun My favorite things really are my favorite crafty things and so I've used lots of MFT on these cards. I already had quite a few images ready and colored. For this CAS card I masked up the bottom and blend on a bit of Salty ocean oxide ink, then used Blueprint sketch oxide ink to stamp a few trees from Friends in the forest as well as a sentiment from Beast friends. Now all I needed was a yeti and gift also from Beast friends. Last year while making cards for OSH I came up with this idea of creating a scene yet only coloring some of the images. It saved me a lot of time and allowed for more cards...

AAA Birthday challenge Game #14 - Use vellum

Billede
Hello everyone! Today marks the start of a new challenge over at  AAA Birthday challenge blog . The theme this month is - Use vellum. There are so many "fine details" you can do with vellum. But I've long wanted to make a card with vellum over alcohol ink. I typically make several backgrounds when I play with alcohol inks. I use different combos and on some, like this, I add a mixative. This is gold. They tend to not blend as well as the inks, so I really tried hard to spread them. Perhaps even too much. Oh, well.... I then stamped the gorgeous roses from Honey Bee Stamps Everything wonderful on vellum with embossing ink. covered with Hero Arts gold embossing powder and heat set it. I don't have the die so I fuzzy cut the image. I added the tiniest dots of glue all around the back of the vellum and adhered it to my alcohol ink base. I stamped a sentiment from the HB set using Stazon solvent ink and adhered a few gold sequins. I hope I've inspired yo...

Strawberry shake and tropical flowers

Billede
Hi there, Confession, I don't always buy things when they're released. Other than the obvious financial reason, I find that if I wait I'll know if I REALLY need it in my life, lol 😄  So, for this card I wanted to use the new-to-me My favorite things Cool cup die. I have done alcohol ink backgrounds before, but never used my Copic refills. But to achieve the very light pink swirly background I wanted, I decided to use refills RV00 and RV02. I also have some RV06 on this, but I didn't use that part for this card. I wanted some glitter in my strawberry shake, so before the ink dried I simply added some Lawn Fawn chunky glitter. I didn't know if the glitter would stick, but it did! After it dried I cut the cup part. The whipped cream is cut from white cardstock and I decided to add sprinkles with my RV02 copic marker and I also added Spun sugar oxide ink along the edge. The straw was also cut from white cardstock and colored with Copics RV09 an...

Birthday cards for her

Billede
Hi there, I'm back after a family vacation with 2 birthday cards for her,  since I decided to use both negative and positive die cuts. First I used the largest My favorite things wonky stitched rectangle to cut out an alcohol ink panel I had already made. Then I used MFT Cheers and Birthday Girl word dies on the panel - I removed all the letters and was really careful to not loose the inside "bubbles" of the letters.     I carefully glued a piece of acetate to the back and glued on the loose bits as well. I hand cut a hole in a frame of white cardstock and placed the alcohol ink panel on top. Then I build up the shaker with crafting foam, used my antistatic bag and filled the tub with sequins, tiny confetti and glitter in colors of  silver, pink and purple. I then cut the MFT layered champagne glass twice. The glass itself is colored with Spun sugar Distress oxide ink and I colored on a couple of details with my Copic ...
