Handmade Paper Hugs

Hello everyone! Today a whole bunch of us Stamping Bella sistah's are honoring the creator and owner of Stamping Bella, Emily Block.  At first I was looking for something that would be sentimental, but I understand that Emily was a fun, vibrant person, so I changed directions. I'm sure she would have wanted us to enjoy making this card for her! Make it a celebration.  This is Girl on a Vespa, and I feel like she's big enough that a lot going on in the background would make it "messy". So after swiping an ink pad over the background a few times I drew a line, made a few doodles and stamped a couple of sentiments over it.   Hi everyone! It's been a while. Life happened. Let's just leave it at that. Things are not great, but I'm trying to get back to posting regularly. If you're not following me on Instagram, this might the time to do so, since I won't be posting all my projects here. You can find my IG here . Anyway, while I was temporarily doing inner maintenance, you may have unsuccesfully tried to purchase digital stamps at the Alex Syberia shop on Etsy. That is because she moved her shop to a new website - you can check that out here . For the first card I used Be Girly digital stamp . I just lov this one! As always I colored with my Copic markers, and I was going for a really glossy look. Markers used: RV69, RV66, RV55, RV52 E35, E34, E33, E31, E30 I printed the image twice and cut the 2 bows out of one of them. I colored them with the lightest pink marker and then added a mix of a pink translucent embossing powder (from Michael's) and a WOW embossing sparkles. I only glued ...

  Hey everyone! Today we're kicking off the February challenge at AAA Birthday challenge blog and the theme is - Pattern. For my pattern I cut the Alex Syberia Summer Leaves cut file on my (brand new - YAY!) Silhouette Cameo from white cardstock. I backed that with a panel heat embossed with WOW! Lime Ricky embossing glitter. Then I stamped and Copic colored an image from My Favorite Things Picture Perfect, which is an older set but new to me.  Copic colors used: Sloth: E50, E51, E53 / E79, E74 / E29, E25, E23 / E44, E43, E41 / W9, W5 Tree: E59, E37, E34 Leaves + background: YG67, YG17, YG06, YG01, YG0000 My Polaroid dies are from Hello Bluebird and sadly do not completely fit the stamped images, BUT I colored a wider frame on the cardstock (Copic 100) to make it fit. Hello everyone! Today I'm using more bits of my first ever play with gel press and oxide inks - find the combos here . I've been working to finish lots of cards for the next Operation write home shipment so I'll be sharing them over the next weeks. They have been delivered at a pick-up point and are currently en route to OSH Headquaters. For the first card I added a piece of gel press behind the Hello Bluebird photo frame. The faries and belongings are from The Greeting Farm Little faries set and they were colored a while ago so no combos for this one, sorry! I repeatedly stamped some of the tiny stamps from the set on the base of the card, for a little interest. I used Milled lavender oxide ink. The other 2 cards follow the same layout and came together really fast. For the sentiment I used Seedless preserves oxide ink, as this is also used on the gel press paper.   Hello everyone! Before we start you may wanna go grab a cuppa. This is a longer post than usual 😉 I've always steared clear from mixed media thinking it was way too many impressions in one piece of paper, lol 😅 However lately I've found that there are ways to use layers and glitter in mixed media, so I warmed up to it. Which led to the obvious question - what exactly is mixed media? Turns out it really just describes the use of more than one medium. So in a way pretty much every card I've ever made is mixed media. Although most of us probably wouldn't put them in that category. I started watching videos of mixed media projects on YouTube. Lots of videos. There are soooo many possibilities and adding color to paper on a gel plate is only one of them. Originally they are intended for acrylic paint, but also work with regular and oxide Distress inks and alcohol ink, which I'm looking forward to try. So I colored a few Concord 9th rainbow unicorns during the daily marker 30 day challenge, and now I've put them on cards. For the first one I used a dark grey cardstock for base. I stamped the sentiment with WOW! embossing ink and covered with gold embossing powder.  I then used the small star stamp and stamped with embossing ink along the bottom as sort of a trail of gold glitter from the unicorn. I covered with Fairy tale embossing powder. Once the unicorn was adhered I wanted a little more sparkle. Out of fear of covering too much color I carefully added a light layer of stickles to the tail and mane. For the second card I used black cardstock for base. I first white heat embossed the sentiment, then used WOW! Mint macaroon on top. I had to layer them because the mint powder is translucent. I layed over the Newton's Nook Confetti stencil and spread a layer of Nuvo Glacier paste Sea sprite. Looks gorgeous on black! This unicorn is wearing a party hat, ...
