Handmade Paper Hugs

  I made another couple of sets of summer cards for the Danish operation write home, this time using Newton's Nook Woodland picnic critters along with sentiments from Gitte's eget design (sending you sunshine) and Three Scoops (wishing you a wonderful summer).  Background stamps are from Simon says stamp and the plaid paper was made with Newton's Gingham stencil. 

 A very girly card, and my first side-step card. I struggled a bit with the layout, but I'm really happy with the result.  The girl is from Make it Crafty, which has sadly closed.  All make-up, ring/diamonds and shoes are from Three Scoops Nail polish and perfumes are from NHH Small text sentiment from Gavlhuset Brush Tillykke die from Gitte's eget design 18 numbers from Mama Elephant  Numbers and die cut word cut from Nuvo mirror card.  The "paper" is ink smooshed paper using Victorian velvet and Spun sugar Distress inks.

  Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a custom made card and I may have gone a little overboard with it. So grab a cuppa, 'cause this is a long post. Initially I just got "graduation, champagne and glitter". But I remember how important graduation was, and I wanted to make it more special, so I asked for more and got "Netflix, coffee, make-up, no immediate plans for education, but partying for now". The most important thing of course is the graduation hat. Here in Denmark the hats are the same but the band changes color depending on which specific type of school you graduate from. This one is like mine and of a 3-year middle school somewhere in between hichscool and college. I wanted to incorporate everything and I started with a black and white base covered in books (Mama Elephant Bookworm).   Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a custom made 70th birthday card for a friend of the family. He loves golf, beer and flowers and he's worked for a local news paper for ages. I knew I had to use Mo's digital pencil "Big guy golfing". The beer bottle and glass are from Three Scoops (bottle says cheers), tillykke (congrats) die from Gitte's eget design and the numbers from The Cat's Pajamas. I added a WOW! embossing powder mix to the numbers. I couldn't fit in flowers as well, so I stenciled the beautiful peonies from a Simon Says Stamp stencil. I wantes to add a braided patch of newspaper, so I cut a few strips and ripped the ends. I added newspaper to the word cut as well. For the cards created during the last couple of months can be said that they're NOT birthday cards but love and support cards. Sincd I usually mostly create birthday cards it's nice to do something else for a change.   Hey everyone! Today I'm sharing a custom made birthday card for a friend of the family. Meaning my Mom asked me to make it for someone I've known most of my life. So I wanted it to be special. The recipient is a joker, it's always fun to be around her. My Mom asked me to include that  - she plays golf  - has a wiener (dachshund)  - has worked for SAS (the airline) for a lifetime and  - "plumeria, the flag of Thailand or something else Thai" since she's married to a Thai (a prince none th eless) and travels there a lot. Hello everyone! Today we're kicking off a new challenge over AAA Birthday blog and the theme is Photo inspiration. Doesn't that photo just scream summer birthday in the garden?  Varada Sharma has kindly sponsored stamps for the design team this month and you can win a $10 gift card to her Etsy shop by entering your card over on the AAA Birthday challenge blog. For my card I used the Varada Sharma Freesia portrait. Simple cards are hard for me, but this beautiful design was just screaming simple to me. I printed it to fit a regular card size and then copic colored it. Copics used: BV04, BV17, BV02, BV000 G05, YG06, YG01 I cut it down and then cut another panel slightly wider. On the second panel I colored the edges using my BV02 marker. I cut out a Tillykke (congrats) word using Gitte's eget design Brush Tillykke and then colored it with the same green markers.
