Alex Syberia Design August release is now live!

Billede
Hello everyone! The August release from Alex Syberia Design is now live! As always the designs are gorgeous and for you cut file lovers there are more news too. So check out the new release on Etsy .  For my first card I used the Lotus stamp. I really love this design and I thought it would pop off a black background. So I Copic colored the image, fuzzy cut it and used a black Memento pen around the edges. I gold heat embossed a sentiment from The Stamp Market - One of a kind, and splattered on some diluted acrylic gold paint. Copics used: RV09, RV06, RV04, RV02 Y08, Y06 YG13, YG11, G43 For my second card I used the Gardenia Duo and the Caleidoscope card panel for background. The background has a beautiful pattern and I thought it would work well for a little interest to the background. And the gardenias are just gorgeous! As always I copic colored the flowers, and all I had to do was add a sentiment (My favorite things - Happy hedgehogs) and a few Nuvo drops. Copics used: RV29, RV25

It's penguining to look a lot like Christmas...

Hi guys! Although Christmas seems far away it's never too soon to begin getting those cards done. Especially when they must travel around the world twice - to far away places in war zones and back home to families. In fact, believe it or not, we just about reached the deadline for the Danish Operation Skriv Hjem (operation write home) Christmas cards. The stamps are from My favorite things Holiday penguin and I colored the penguins with Copics. I ink blended the backgrounds with Distress ink (on the left) and Distress Oxide inks (on the right). For both I used Tumbled glass and Blueprint sketch. Before adding the penguins I white heat embossed the tree and a sentiment from the set. The "snow" was created by splotching a bit of water on the panels and then adding embossing powder. Yes, that actually works! The red baubles are cut from glitter cardstock. The cheap kind that only slightly sparkles, since we can't take any chances with glitter. I used the "berry&qu

Bookmarks for everyone!

Billede
Hi everyone! Today is my daughter's first day back at school after 6 weeks of summer break. I've wanted to create bookmarks for her whole class since she started 2 years ago, but - well, life happens. BUT! Now they're finally done, I'm happy with them and I know they probably wont all like them, and that's OK! 23 bookmarks in total, 4 different designs using many of my favorite stamps. Mainly because I would go bananas if I were to color the same images 23 times. I also stayed true to my new-found love for coloring edge to edge. The names of her class mates are already stamped on the back of them, so here's hoping my daughter picked the right designs for each of them. For all bookmarks I used: My favorite things - Scallop cross-stitch bookmark (2 per bookmark for sturdiness and to hide bleeding) Three Scoops - Eventyret begynder her (sentiment meaning "the adventure/fairytale begins here") Mama Elephant - Bookworm Copic markers Ribbon & twine The

Hey friends! Sharing a couple more cards using a sentiment stamp for the background. The cute bears are from My favorite things Beary special borthday and they are still one of my favorite sets. They are copic colored and I used the same colors for an ombré look on the MFT Hooray cuts. Thanks for stopping by! Stay safe and happy crafting! My favorite things sketch #552

Hi everyone! I'm just in time to join this weeks challenge at MFT. I've used the Flamazing stamp set and coordinating dies. I die cut first in order to place legs and beaks correctly. When I bought this set I loved all the layers and possibilities in it, but I've learned I'm not a stamping guru. I simply much prefer coloring than fidling with stamps and matching inks etc. I must try to color them instead. By the way, I used mainly Altenew inks. So once I got started I wanted to make sure I would benefit from correct placement and cut and stamped a huge bunch while I was at it. Thus this set of 12 Flamazing flamingo cards. The background was masked off and ink blended with Tumbled glass, Mermaid lagoon, Squeezed lemonade and Worn lipstick Distress oxide inks, and then cut with a stitched wonky rectangle die. From there it was simply up to placement and gluing the pieces down. Then I added a sentiments. They are from the set and stamped on a flag from the Simple and Bas

AAA birthday blog game #28 - Photo inspiration

Billede
Hello everyone! Today we're kicking off a new challenge over AAA Birthday blog and the theme is Photo inspiration. Doesn't that photo just scream summer birthday in the garden?  Varada Sharma has kindly sponsored stamps for the design team this month and you can win a $10 gift card to her Etsy shop by entering your card over on the AAA Birthday challenge blog. For my card I used the Varada Sharma Freesia portrait. Simple cards are hard for me, but this beautiful design was just screaming simple to me. I printed it to fit a regular card size and then copic colored it. Copics used: BV04, BV17, BV02, BV000 G05, YG06, YG01 I cut it down and then cut another panel slightly wider. On the second panel I colored the edges using my BV02 marker. I cut out a Tillykke (congrats) word using Gitte's eget design Brush Tillykke and then colored it with the same green markers. After adhering it to the card I added glitter from a Spectrum noir clear glitter marker. To that I added a layer o
