Guest Designing for 52 CCT

Hello everyone! I wish I could say I have enough determination to make Christmas cards year round, because it would save me a lot of stress. But I just don't. I love Christmas, at Christmas. But I get really annoyed when the stores decorate at the beginning of October. I mean, seriously...?
But - I was chosen winner at Christmas card throwdown blog this Christmas and asked to guest design. I'm honored and delighted to do so. And honestly, the My favorite things Happy pawlidays doggies are the cutest, and so I enjoyed this so much I made 2 cards.

For the background I ink blended Candied apple Distress ink through a Three Scoops Christmas stencil. Love this stencil.
The sentiment from MFT Handwritten holiday is heat embossed with WOW! Red glitz embossing glitter.
Since the theme is Christmas lights I highlighted them with glossy accents.
Copics used:
E77, E74, E71, E70
R39, R29, R24
100, C7, C5 (nose)
C3, C1 (hat/lights)
I cut the panel slightly smaller than the cardbase and heat embossed the edge of the base with WOW! Red glitz embossing glitter.
Here I first inkblended Tumbled glass and Salty ocean Distress inks through MFT Circle extraordinaire stencil. Then I placed the Newton's Nook Evergreens stencil on top of the circle stencil and applied Liquid Applique. Once dry you can heat set it for a bubbly snowy look.
As always, I wasn't patient enough to let it completely dry, so I ended up with some of the slighty burned. Oh, well.... And although it's really hard to see I added a soft halo around the light to make it look like they're lit. These also have a drop of glossy accents on them.
I used the same colors for the dog. For the light I used:
RV06, RV02, RV00
B05, B02, B00
Y08, Y02, Y00
The sentiment is from the Happy pawlidays set and the doggie is popped up quite a bit to clear those puffy trees.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Don't be shy to leave a little love below.

  3. First of all, your cards are just too cute, I love that little puppy with the lights. I was wondering, where did you get that background stencil? I tried to look it up, but couldn't find anything with that name. Thanks for sharing...:-)

    1. Thank you so much, Jill! It's from a Danish shop. Not sure if they ship internationally. I'll drop a link. Altenew has one similar called Diamond snowflakes.

    2. Thank you so much for your response, Tina, I went and checked it out, but didn't see if they shipped to the US. I looked at the Altenew one, and I like it as well. Thank you so much for the info.
