AAA Birthday challenge Game #15 3D

Hello everyone! It's July - can you believe it? I sure can't! I'm not even sure the weather is corresponsing. But today we are starting a new challenge over at AAA Birthday challenge blog and the theme is 3D.
I decided on a Pop-up shadow box card with the whole herd getting together for a fun, festive birthday party.
I used this tutorial from Jennifer McGuire. However I dared change the card meassurements a bit even though I've failed at that before. This time it worked out though, lol. I cut 2 panels 15x18 cm (~5.9x7 inch) with my trimmer. I also cut 2 panels 15x15 cm. One of these smaller panels I will adhere to the back of the card for sturdiness and for a clean spot to write a birthday message.

I scored the 2 large panels at ½" and 1" at both ends and creased the folds with my bonefolder. From one panel I then cut an oval window using a double pierced frame from Nellie Snellen. I first ink blended the front panel using Twisted citron, Mowed lawn, Peeled paint and Evergreen bough and a couple of Simon says stamp stencils - Leafy frame and Waves and hills.

I then took one of the smaller panels and laid the ink blended panel on top. Now I re-used the same colors and stencils to make sure they matched. Then I used a smaller oval die to cut that panel
On the back panel I meassured out the hill top. And the rest was ink blended to look like a sunset using Fossilized amber, Spiced marmelade, Worn lipstick and Dusty concord oxide inks.
I then stamped, copic colored and die dut all the cuties from My favorite things Party animals.
most I adhered to the front, but notice the one piggy peeking out from behind the bushes. And the kitty that just came over the hill top all the way in the back.
And then there's the flying cow and chicken. I again followed the video tutorial, placing them on a strip of acetate and adhering it in between the folds of the front and back panel. I like how they move when you pull the fold.
I love that this card has so much dimension, yet folds flat in an envelope. Finished card size is 15x15 cm.
To finish the card I added 2 flag banners under the Mama elephant sentiment banner.
I really like how this turned out. So much dimension, beautiful colors and cute critters. I hope I have inspried you, I would love to hear from you in the comments.
And don't forget to hop on over to the AAA Birthday challenge blog to check out the other design team inspiration as well as from our guest designer, and of course to join the fun.

See you next time!
Tina
