Birthday card for my BFF

Hello everyone! Happy new year to you all! I don't know about you but I'm so relieved 2020 is now over. Let's hope 2021 is much better!
Speaking of 2020 this was also a hard year for happy mail. I created this birthday card for my BFF who lives halfway around the world. Her birthday is in late September so I sent it at the beginning of September to be sure it arrived in time. This usually takes about 3 weeks. Little did I know it would take months and the card only arrived a week before Christmas. As did her Christmas card, LOL. But I'm just happy it did arrive and wasn't lost forever.

Anyway, my BFF loves mermaids and LOOOVES manatees so I created this underwater scene using 5 different digital stamp sets from the large and super adorable collection of mermaids and friends  at Sweet November stamps. The 3 mermaids came in to the shallow tropical waters and found lots of playful animal friends.

I regret to say I didn't write down my Copic combos for this one. But everything is Copic colored and it was a big project for me. I might remember some of them, so do ask 😉

One more close-up.

To finish the card I stamped a sentiment from Mama Elphant Scripty Bday and mattet it with a darker blue cardstock before attaching to my white base.

As I don't do a lot of slim cards I didn't have to fit this to a specific size. However, it turned out to be so large I had difficulties creating an envelope for it. Come back tomorrow to see how it turned out 😉

Thanks for stopping by!
Stay safe and happy crafting!

Tina
