Fifty hugs

Hello Everyone! Hope your year is off to a great start. Mine is tough, I tell ya! A new lockdown started after Christmas, they already prolonged once and home schooling is taking its toll on me and my daughter. Time for crafting is sparse and this set of cards took... A while.

So - these cards feature a nice portrait of Fifty the bear sending hugs. In case you don't know Fifty he's the very proud mascot of the Danish Operation Write Home - OSH. During our first lockdown last spring the designer from NHH Design created a series of free digital stamps featuring Fifty and I've only just now come to using them.

I printed out a bunch of bears and colored him to fit the desert troops he will be "joining" soon. I did very simple coloring and almost no shading.
Copics used:
Fifty: E51, E53 + E35, E34, E31
Uniform: E42, E43, E27, G24, G43
Shoes: E44, E43, E42
Tag: C5, C3
Letter: RV10, RV25

I prepped my 10 backgrounds with a couple of swipes of Vintage photo and Shabby shutters Distress inks. They are dry as the Sahara desert but I managed. The stamped sentiment meaning "a huge" is from Gitte's eget design. For the "hug" part of the sentiment I used Altenew Bold alphas. I used a piece of masking tape on the back of my ruler to line up the letters. Game changer!

The pattern on the cut letters are from the digital paper Dogtags, also from the Fifty series. The tags are Poppystamps Heart tag trio. I actually cut them from the same pink paper as the letters, but I was going for a neutral look that would work for both male/female and the pink tags were just to girly. So I colored them grey and the hearts to match the one on the envelope (C3, C1, RV25). They are not as bright pink in real life 🙈

There you have it, hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by!
Stay safe and happy crafting.

Tina
