AlexSyberiaDesign May Digi Stamp Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone! Today I am SUPER excited to be part of Alex Syberia's blog hop for her new May release, which is now available in her Etsy shop
If you're new to my blog - Welcome!
In this release Alex created not only gorgeous flowers but also a couple of adorable Geisha dolls. I think they are too cute and I had to include them, so for my cards I sort of have a theme going - flower and Geisha combined.
For this card I used Miss Peony and layered Kokeshi Doll Akemi on top. Peonies are one of my most favorite flowers and I colored it to look like one from my own garden. The sentiment "Bloom where you are planted" is selfmade and printed with the design.
For all the cards I tried coloring the flowers as natural looking as I could, and the dolls in colors to match while not taking focus. I usually list the markers I've used, for your convenience and my future reference.
Copics used
Peony: RV17, RV09, RV06, RV55, RV52 / G17, G14 / Y17, Y11, Y000
Doll: E00, E000, E50, RV06, RV02 / V01, C5, C7, 100
Kimono: RV25, RV23, RV10 / YG13, YG11 / BG78, BG75, BG72 / YR24, YR21, YR20
I cut out the design with the largest Double pierced rectangle from Simple and Basic. I used this on all the cards, by the way. To frame the design I used my Copic markers to dot all around the edge, using RV11, RV10, RV0000.
For my next card I used White Gardenie and layered Kokeshi Doll Fumiko just on the side.
This flower image is soooo very gorgeous. Talk about a challenge in coloring white, though. Phew!
Copics used
Gardenia: W3, W0 + YG01 to the very centre / E43, E41 / YR21, Y00
Buds: YG06, YG13, YG11
Leaves: G99, G94, G43, G40
Doll: E00, E000, E50, V15, V12 / V12, C5, C7, 100 + YR23, YR21, Y00
Kimono: V09, V04 / W3 / YG13, YG11 / YR27, YR23, YR21
I decided to make the dotted frame part of the theme too, here I used YR23, YR21, YR20. The sentiment is from Birch Press Designs You are awesome.
For my last card today I used Almond Blossoms - don't you just love almond trees blossom and the whole tree looks pink? So pretty! I layered Kokeshi Doll Mitsuki over it.
Once again I colored with my beloved Copic markers.
Almond flowers: RV17, RV09, RV04, RV02, RV00 / G94, G43, G40 / E44, E43, E41
The dolls eyes didn't bleed, I had googled for reference, and some had quite dramatic eye make-up.
Doll: E00, E000, E50, RV17, RV1, RV13, RV10 / B21, C5, C7, 100 / B02, B00, YG06, YG01
Glasses: RV66, RV55, RV52
Kimono: BG57, B99, B97, B95 / RV04, RV02, RV00 / G94, G43 / YG06, YG01, YG0000
The frame on this card is more "full", darker if you will. I used B24, B23, B21, B0000. The sentiment is from the same Birch Press set.

  1. Beautiful! I loved that you placed a Kikeshi Doll with a beautiful flower. My favorite is Akemi with the white Gardenia. Most cards show the gardenia in a color, and they don't even resemble the gardenia's I grew up with. Stunning! Thanks for sharing. Brenda West
