AAA Birthday challenge #35 - Under the sea

Hello everyone! Today marks the beginning of the March challenge over at AAA Birthday challenge blog, and the theme this month is Under the sea. So get out your favorite sea critters - otters, turtles, whales etc. - or how about mystical creatures like mermaids.

Sadly this month's challenge also marks my last project for the AAA DT, as I need to focus on me for a while.

Although not in relevance to this challenge at all, I ask that you keep the people of Ukraine in your thoughts 🙏


This gorgeous image is a Make it Crafty digital stamp colored with Copics. I don't remember the colors used, but I'm guessing :
Hair: R85, R83, RV11, RV10
Tail: B99, B97, BG49, BG13, BG15, BG01, YG0000


The background panel is an old alcohol ink panel i had laying around. 
For sentiment I chose 2 Sentiments from Taylored Expressions Be a mermaid. I didn't have a "Have a mermazing birthday", so these will have to do. Oh, and by the way, they were white heat embossed directly onto the alcohol ink panel. Yes, you can do that, but you have to be REALLY careful and move your heat gun around A LOT! to prevent warping 😉

Har jeg ret?  Rengøring af så mange tuscher tager lidt tid og jeg forstår fuldt ud, hvis nogle synes det er langsommeligt og spild af tid. Masculine birthday card

Hey everyone, Today I'm sharing a masculine card. It seems to be something a lot of us strugle with, but since I had my oxide inks out (see post from yesterday) I ink blended one more panel using Faded jeans, Broken China and Cracked Pistacio. I just love this combo. I placed the panel in my Misti and prepped it with my antistatic powder tool before stamping the Simon Says Stamp Ornate background stamp. This is one of my all time favorite stamps and I keep going back to it. I often use my Versafine Onyx black and clear embossing powder, but for this I used Stampendous black embossing powder because it has a really gorgeous raised glossy look.  Just look at that shine! The TILLYKKE sentiment simply means congrats and is from Simple and Basic. I die cut it from black cardstock 4 times for dimension, and covered the top layer in WOW! embossing Vintage peacock glitter. TIP: The die does not come with a shadow, but i turned it upside down on a black

Pop-up how-to

  Hi friends, here's a how-to on my pop-up cards. Last summer I decided on finding a card design that was sort of interactive, yet not too dimensional, to make for the Danish Operation write home.  For those who don't know, the Operation write home delivers cards for military personnel to send home to their loved ones while deployed.  ~ My favorite things Mermazing, Elegant rectangle stax, Neat & Tangled Mermazing, Taylored Expressions Sweet scallop stencil The pop-up card design is not my original idea. It's been around for years, and I recall making one a looong time ago, but it was tedious and I didn't like the working process. But I recently saw Jennifer Mcquire make it this way, and I knew I had to give it a try. And once I'd made one they just flowed on out of my crafty quarters. They are really easy to make and add quite the dimension to the card. AND - they fold flat, which is absolutely perfect. ~ Whimsy stamps Whale of a time, Sunny Studios stamps Sea
